About Us

We get a lot of questions about who we are, where we’ve come from, and why we’re here.

This is updated as of July 2010.

Who are we? Keith grew up in Indiana. Kimberly grew up in Missouri. We met in college while studying for a semester in Hong Kong. We married and moved to Texas where Keith taught 3rd grade for 6 years. After having our 2 daughters, Eliza and Katie, we moved to China on July 23, 2007.

Why China? We love China- and Asia as a whole. After spending a semester in Hong Kong and visiting Mainland China a few times, we were completely infected with a passion for Asia. We lived through 9 long years of waiting and planning between our first visit to China in 1998 and our eventual move to China in 2007. We’re thrilled to be here and we love being involved in what our Father is doing here. Keith teaches 3rd grade in an international school here and we have an amazing, supportive community of faith in Tianjin that makes life here wonderful.

How long will we be in China? We started our time in China saying we were completely open to His timing, but we planned on several years at a minimum.   We’re starting our 4th year.  And who knows how long we’ll be here?

What do we do here? Keith is a teacher.  He teaches 3rd grade in a private international school.  The kids are from a variety of backgrounds and nationalities, with a large percentage coming from South Korea.    Kimberly has been involved in many things- the orphanage, local college student work, and teaching at the international school.  Teaching at the international school is Kimberly’s current focus- she’s directing high school theater, teaching photography, and assisting with the school yearbook.  Our all-consuming desire is to show True Love to those around us in all that we do.
