Today, auditions will be held for the fall play. This kicks off the real start to “busy” in my year. I’ll be getting home later, the girls will be hanging out in my office a lot more, and my time to prep dinner is going to shrink in a big way.
I’m amazed at the inventive people online who teach me new ways to do things. Today, I tried something inspired by these ideas. “Baked” pasta in a rice cooker.
I threw in 2 cups of hot water, a bag of pasta, and a can of pasta sauce. Stir once. Close the lid and click “on” (rice setting). When it was done, I sprinkled some parmesan cheese on top and closed the lid to melt that a bit. The end.

And both kids ate it. (Wonder of wonders, miracle of miracles!)
Since I showed my office on day 1, I thought I’d update now that it is a bit more presentable. Well, not “neat” but that’s ok! I was working on inventorying cameras.
I moved my desk to face the window (great idea- duh!)

And I took all the photos that had been framed on our walls that we recently swapped out for more current ones and put them up to brighten up the walls.
And I brought in a table for the girls to do homework and brought a bunch of craft stuff for all 3 of us girls. I got ink pads from my sister in the US and have LOVED having them and some stamps! I’ve made a couple dozen cards since coming back and it feels so good to have a crafty outlet @ school where I can pop over and make a card and then get back to work. (ahem, I would never procrastinate my work by playing with crafty things!!)

My favorite thing of all though…

oh yes… that’s right. I’m living large now! I’ve got my own LIGHT!!! This is a big deal for me, cause before I didn’t have a light!
And the front of my office door.

Hi! I stumbled upon your blog and now I’ve been reading it for a while now, and it’s just great. I’ve never commented before, mainly because I didn’t want you to think I was weird for not knowing you but reading your blog..haha. But I’ve been dying to ask you how did you blow up your pictures like that and edit them? I have some pictures I really want to do that with I just have no clue how…yours are so adorable! Thanks!
