There are no words for how much we love this dish.  I am a big fan of garlic.  And well, this is seriously the most delicious way to serve broccoli- ever.  Even better than velveeta-laden broccoli.  Really.

Garlic Broccoli- by my sweet ayi

Step 1: Boil a pot of water.   Add 1-2 heads of broccoli  that you’ve already washed and cut into bite size florets.  Leave it there for 1 minute, boiling, and then dump broccoli into a strainer.  Set aside.

Step 2:  Mix together in a bowl: 1 tsp chicken bouillion granules, 1 tsp veg oil, 3 minced garlic cloves, pinch each of sugar, salt, sesame oil.  Add broccoli, toss.

Step 3: Heat wok to medium-high to high heat with about 1T oil in it.  Wait until the wok is nice and hot. Add broccoli mix.  Stir fry very fast on very high heat for about 1-2 minutes.  Add an additional tsp of sesame oil at the end.  Serve.  Salivate.  Enjoy.

I apologize for the foggy photos- but seriously, this was some HOT cookin’!  I mean, steamy hot!  Very very hot!  All that steam makes the ole camera a bit cranky!

Yum! Garlic Brocoli is one of my favorites, I will definitely be attempting to make this recipe. It looks so yummy that I think I will be getting some Broccoli on the way home from school so I can try making it tonight.
On another note, my daughter (10 1/2 yrs old) wanted me to tell you that she loves reading your blog and about all the things that go on in China.

YUMMMM!!!!!! I was broccoli deprived while nursing since Danielle didn’t like it all that much, so now I’m going crazy with it in all our meals:) This will be a perfect addition to tonight’s supper! Thanks ayi!

Jim and I both love garlic and broccoli. Can I put in an early order?

Ooh, I’ll have to try this. I need an ayi to teach me how to cook this stuff! And it doesn’t sound laden in oil like the restaurants’ garlic broccoli. Speaking of which, I’d like to see you add that “pinch” of oil in the recipe, lol!

    Cheers!

I just wanted to let you know that I finally got around to making the Garlic Broccoli today. I have to say it was probably the best I have ever had, and super easy to make. I just wish the kids and DH liked broccoli. I think the next time I make it I will add some cooked chicken and make it a main dish. Thanks again for sharing the yummy recipe!
